This thread is for new members to post post brief introductions soon after they arrive and I also encourage people to start separate threads for longer introductions if they want to. I personally intend to also post two such introductions threads: one for "Spiritrebel, author of War in Heaven" and the other for "Realityrebel, futurist historian of the Information Revolution.

Hello, Skytiger here cat

My husband and I ranch in Texas USA.
I'm very close to nature, believing we should put Mother Earth first.
Remembering the world of Spirit and a few past lives, I believe in a loving Creator, but not in religions for myself.
Some of my Thought for the Day come from past memories and my guides, a few are just me.
Looking forward to getting to know everyone and learning from each other cat

Brief Introductions by New Members Empty
3PostSubject: Introducing Lady Guinevere   Brief Introductions by New Members EmptyMon Nov 09, 2015 5:37 am

I am a ULC Minister since 2004.  The Internet are my followers.  I claim not to convert anyone and go by the words of Jesus and not those of Paul or others.  I have been on a spiritual journey way before I got certified as a ULC Minister and have been guided since.  I do what Jesus directs me to do and most hard core religious have problems with that and usually put up a fight....some Athiests too.  I am more of the agnostic type of Christian.  This is partly why I also chose the handle Lady Guinevere because she was like on the fence between Pagan and Christianity in the Camelot legends.
I live in West Virginia but I wasn't born here.  I love all the nature that surrounds me.  I love animals and they love me and they tend to come to me for help in one way or another.  I now have 7 cats and one Boxer/German Shepherd/Yellow Lab mix elderly dog.
I write and have several Blogs, take pictures of my area in the Rural and Country areas in my County and beyond and share them on products now with Zazzle.
I am a member of many forums/groups and websites too.
I am a very busy person.

Welcome aboard, Lady G. I'm hoping you'll do a lot of posting here.

I suggest that you change your user name, because using an e-mail addy may violate forumotion's general policies.

You can go to your Profile and change your user name here on forumotion, unlike on Yuku.

And I'm still trying to figure out how to keep people's user names from posting in weird colors. That's something that's apparently built into the skin I'm using, and I'm going to have to learn how to find the right code and change it.

Tell me the user name you want and I'll see if I can change it for you. I forgot that the permissions are different for regular members than they are for Admins.

I like 'em too, but only if they are easy for the individual users and the staff of Forums to control. And so far I haven't been able to figure out how to do this, but I'll keep looking... I WAS able to make the user names post in regular type, which IMO is necessary because not all readers can be expected to have normal vision. (Remember, I was nearly blind a lot of the time a couple of years ago.)

I understand poor vision, as I was legally blind a year ago due to cataracts in both eyes. Had surgery in May, and have excellent far vision, but need readers for up close.
The bad thing was having to wait till the cataracts were 'ripe' before they would consider surgery.

It didn't cure my color blindness. However not knowing how others see things, I think the world looks beautiful.

My vision still isn't anywhere near normal, but at least I don't have to sit in the "visually impaired" seats on buses any more. (I still sit in the "disabled" section because I limp badly and have very limited use of my right arm, so it isn't safe for me to stand up on a moving bus.) However, I was pleasantly surprised at how well other people treated me all the way through the period when I very little vision. I would be struggling to read a sign or the product description on a packaged item, and very often another ordinary customer would come up and offer to read it to me. And unlike a lot of the stories I see posted on line, I was NEVER treated rudely by the employees of any business because of my poor vision.

Brief Introductions by New Members Empty
16PostSubject: Re: Brief Introductions by New Members   Brief Introductions by New Members EmptyWed Nov 11, 2015 4:27 pm

I have an Optic Pit and was born with it.  It has just been the last couple of years that I really began to notice it as people would tell me that I have "spelling" erros.  I can spell just fine.  Typing and seeing with an optic pit is like playing roulette.  An optic pit is like someone scouped out a portion of your eyes nerves.  Since I was born with it I neve had much notice of it.  What is it like?  Well it is like there is a peice of my vison missing and I don't or can't see things out of it.  I don't know where it is most time until I have to cncentrate to see it.  No glasses or operation will cure or help this.  That is why I get so upset when people pick on me for spelling errors.  I can't do a darned thing about it and they will never understand unless they can experience it.

LadyG, #16: The optic pit is one of the few eye ailments or imperfections I have no personal experience with, so I looked up the Wiki article on it, and I'm really glad I missed out on this one. From the article, it not only causes untreatable visual problems that the sufferer has to just learn to deal with, it also can cause detachments that have to be spotted early on with professional exams and corrected surgically.

Yes and if there is nothing there to work with.  I didn't find this out until I went to get glasses when I was about24 years old.  I shocked the Optometrist when he saw it and as I sat in the chair in the examining room he called three other optometrist telling them that he had only seen it in medical books and didn't really know that it existed.  I still had to pay for the exam.....ha!
When I hit 50 that is when I really started having problems with my vision.  If the typo or spelling error is whithin that areas of my vision I just don't see it.  It is not ignoring it.  I can't see it at all.  So when they tell me all about spell check....ummmm why, I don't see anything wrong to begin with.  That is soooo difficult being an writer.

Hi Kim,

Welcome aboard!

If I can be said to have any New Years resolutions at all, making a major effort to turn RR into a viable Web discussion group is high on the list...

Thank you both, I have a lot of time on my hands now so I'll do my best to help in the positive efforts on this site..and do my utmost to remain positive with constructive and some funny or nature posts mixed in,

Most of us have our core beliefs, and intuitive evidence in many areas, some overlap and some may differ but I always remain open to new knowledge to retain, i have learned that the new information may come from one who ideas I disagree with but in the course of reading their input I sometimes catch something that gets me to thinking or looking at things differently,
Challenging myself in my mind, the what ifs, what is, and what might be?
which has been a "hobby" ? with me most of my life, I do become irritated with some though who refuse to put themselves in an others position, to walk a mile in their shoes.or who insult my intelligence with BS..

I'm sure most here know exactly the experience of dealing with minds of a lesser level.
anyway, thanks for the invite, hospitality, providing a positive arena to hang out in and just for being a collection of real people..
