Here's a longer version of the quotation and a link to Coehlho's Wiki bio. I dont remember reading any of his work, but from the descriptions of it on Wiki, I may end up eventually reading some.

Two of my three wives were members of my Spiritual Family, and in both cases we each knew this as soon as we met. The first such marriage, which lasted for almost twenty years (fourteen of them in a relationship that was visible to the public), was so weird that I've never published the details and never will, but it resulted in the channeling and writing of the WiH book. Just being around us socially freaked out most New Age and Neo Pagan types, but viewed from the inside our biazrre lifestyle allowed us to develop and use our psychic powers to the fullest extent. However, it also resulted in the lady disintegrating mentally until we were forced to break up. About six months after that, I received a letter from the lady who became my third wife, which included a nude self-portrait drawing and made it clear that we were going to get together to lead the efforts to publish and promote the WiH book. This relationship only lasted five years, but it accomplished what it was intended to accomplish, and this lady also suffered from severe mental illness afterwards.

My point is that while such relationships often result in profound changes in the personality structure and activities of the people involved, these changes can be for the better, for the worse, or a mixture of both. And because of my past-life and pre-life memories, I didn't undergo significant personality changes because I always understood exactly what was going on and why.

My firt child told me that she was coming and it would not be traditional.  Seh told me that I would marry after she was concieved and that was one of the purposes for my first marriage.

When I met my 2nd husband who has the Intimacy Anorexia and didn't know this prior to the marriage I asked him right up front, "How longe Did you wait for me?"  We are together becasue we are supposed to be and working on something.

I had to wait for my soul mate to grow up. He's 5 years younger, and was well worth the wait.
Before him, I didn't even like to date, preferring to just be friends and nothing more. We had planned this lifetime in Spirit.
