I only watched the first few minutes of the video, but I totally agree that there's a vast difference between the information the US government gives out spontaneously in situations like the White House press briefing and the snippets that get mentioned out of context on the mass media news shows. And I'm also aware that the media news coverage in most other Western countries, whether it's Canada, the UK, France, or whatever is considerably more accurate and detailed than TV or radio news programs in the USA. However, I don't think there's anything that can be done about this, because both the government at all levels in this country and the big corporations that own the mass media seem satisfied with the status quo.

I know that Obama spoke to veterans group in Atlanta yesterday, but don't have time to watch the video. I did watch his July 27 speech on CNN, though. And of course there's now a real shit-storm going on over Trump's insulting a couple of Muslim Americans whose son was killed in action back in 2004. I've been posting on Twitter that it now looks to me like Trump never wanted to be POTUS. His goal was to destroy the Republican Party by stealing the nomination and then losing the general election by a big margin, assuming, I guess that Democrats would be easier to buy.

I was quite surprised to find out The Donald (or at least the staff members who use his name on Twitter) actually posted a "like" on one of my messages yesterday.
