Listening to weather reports of flooding, and other 'natural disasters', I can't help but wonder why we don't try to work with Mother Earth instead of trying to shape Her into what we want? If we built towns on high ground they would be less prone to washing away. If we reserved a whole city block for gardens in every neighborhood or home development, we would not only have fresh veggies to share, but also a place to breath fresh air with workouts that would contribute to ones health. Of course we don't know when earthquakes will hit, but our science should be able to find out where major faults are that should not be developed for homes. Also we will always have storms and drought. However I think we would be better off if we worked with nature.
