I am interested what you all say about the title song of Bowie's last album Blackstar...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kszLwBaC4Sw
I think it is a very deep and significant record and it has a staggering symbolism yet I thnk it cannot be "translated" very simply... there are allusions to today's world politics of fanaticism in it too, performance art like video pictures - and the black star as a symbol I predict will catch on... I don't know why but now I feel after a third listening of this song that there is a powerful but simple antidote to many ills in a visionary way... (my favorite Bowie albums were Heroes, Low and Scary Monsters).

I just watched this video, and it looks to me like Bowie is foreseeing his physical death and
trying to predict what's going to happen when he gets to the Other Side. But he's already there
and the Black Star (which I've always called "Black Five" in my own mind) hasn't been
activated yet, so I assume he's watching the countdown as it proceeds and wondering what is
going to happen next the same as the rest of us are.
